Despite the apparent credit crunch and forecast reduced discretionary spend for events, Reed Business Information (RBI’s) SED event was the busiest in its 42 year history with 20,000 visitors through their gates.

Thomson Reuters has confirmed that it will cut 140 journalists' positions and up to 700 sales and technical staff by the end of 2008 as part of its plan to generate $750m (Ł383m) in cost savings over the next three years.

United Business Media to introduce a new UK-listed holding company

United Business Media (UBM) this week announced a change to the corporate structure of the United Business Media group. The proposals will create a new UBM holding company which is UK-listed, incorporated in Jersey with its tax residence in the Republic of Ireland.
