US classified site Craigslist has added a number of UK cities to the areas it covers, which is set to increase the threat to newspaper and magazine publishers who rely on paid classified advertising for revenues.

Business and financial news title the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) introduced a new column this week, focusing on news from London’s financial centre. ‘Letter from the City’ will be a daily column, and will feature in the international finance pages of the journal’s money and investment section.

FT uses Regeneration & Renewal data to cover credit crisis

Business media has yet again proved its status as a driver of national news stories, as a key source for a national newspaper covering the credit crisis. The Financial Times (FT) drew on research from Haymarket Business Media’s Regeneration & Renewal magazine, and was the source of the ‘Top 10 regeneration projects’ listed alongside the story on 4 April, about how the credit crunch could affect urban renewal.

PrintWeek India to launch in May

Haymarket Business Media’s print trade weekly PrintWeek is set to launch a new version in Asia next month. The title will target 12,000 print professionals with a controlled circulation. Haymarket expects the title to reach 20,000 by 2010, when it will become a paid-for subscription magazine.
RBI acquires JP aviation directories

Despite being up for sale, Reed Business Information (RBI) has continued to acquire this week. Purchasing aviation brand JP Airline-Fleets directory will add to RBI’s flight portfolio with titles such as Flight International and Airline Business.
