Informa announces end of year results

Business media company Informa has announced their year end results, reporting revenues of £1.13bn and “strong trading” across all three divisions (academic and Scientific, Professional and Commercial) and a “confident outlook” for 2008. Informa’s portfolio includes magazine titles such as Lloyds List, Health Insurance and Cable & Satellite Europe.
United Business Media acquires AeroStrategy data business

United Business Media plc has announced it has acquired AeroStrategy’s aviation data business on behalf of its Commonwealth Business Media division. The business has been acquired for an initial cash consideration of $0.9m, with a further performance-related consideration of up to US$1.2m payable over the next three years.

Business media company Reed Business Information (RBI) is to be sold by parent company Reed Elsevier. According to Elsevier, RBI is an advertising based business that differs from that of Elsevier, with the market growth profile and performance being less consistent than its parent.
Strategy for the Creative Economy launched

The Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport Andy Burnham will tomorrow launch a strategy for the Creative Economy. In a Ministerial written statement the Minister claims the strategy will aim to 'exploit British talent to the full', 'remove barriers to business growth' and 'invest in reasearch, innovation and the protection of intellectual property. '
