‘Getting good sales staff and keeping them’ is a problem that Business Media companies are facing daily. They are trying to solve the problem in different ways; some hiring professional recruiters, others only hiring staff from outside London or even outside the publishing industry. Why have media sales roles become such a struggle to recruit for? Are the pressures driven from within our own industry or other booming parts of the economy? What do we need to be doing to keep sales teams longer and keep them motivated? Is splitting or integrating sales teams the answer?
