Profit surge Informa announce new chairman and CEO

After strong results with revenue rising to £1.03bn a year, and profits increasing 42 per cent year on year, Informa has announced it is trading ahead of last year in both real and constant currency terms, resulting in higher dividends for shareholders. The group has also announced it is promoting Peter Rigby to the chairman's job in May and David Gilbertson; Informa’s current managing director will replace him as chief executive.

34 year old brand launches web 2.0 enabled web site

Incisive VNU’s B+P publication Computing has redesigned its web site (www.computing.co.uk), developing and extending the brand’s online presence by enabling increased Web 2.0 functionality. The new-look website encourages user-generated content via blogs and community interaction, which hopes to deliver a richer user experience.

B+P superbrands recognised

Seven business and professional media brands were awarded superbrand status in a definititive list of 500 business superbrands last week. Haymarket's Campaign, Marketing and Management Today, William Reed's The Grocer, Incisive media's Accountancy Age and Emap's Retail Week and Design Week were all recognised by the Business Superbrands council, with 1400 business professionals surveyed by research agency YouGov.   

Huveaux posts 5th consecutive year of profit growth

Huveaux plc the education, healthcare and political business media group have reported double digit financial growth year on year achieving revenues of £45m and profits of £6m. 

Size of business press market outlined in new report

Steady on for CMPi

Business and professional publisher CMP Information has increased its revenues by almost 5 per cent in the last year, but profits at the group remain stable. Announcing its end of year results for 2006 this morning (2 March), CMPi parent company United Business Media (UBM) said increased investment in online products and exhibitions had stunted CMPi's ability to up its profits.

Accountancy Age named Business Superbrand

Accountancy Age has been named as a Business Superbrand, alongside Google, BBC and The Economist. Selection based on brands’ quality, reliability and distinction was carried out through a vote by the Business Superbrands Council and a survey by research agency Yougov of more than 1400 business professionals.
