A new report, published by the German Association of Magazine Publishers, VDZ Verband Deutscher Zeitschriftenverleger, examines the business and professional magazine market in India. The report looks at readers' markets, profiles of Indian publishers and provides a list of major nationwide distributed business and professional magazines in the English language.

The Economist and CFO Europe top for business elite

Results of the European Business Readership Survey (EBRS) show that The Economist has extended its coverage of senior European business people by 40 per cent since 2004 and has gained more readers than any other international title, website or TV channel. Its sister title CFO Europe, recorded even higher growth in percentage terms, increasing its readership by 65 per cent. This increase reflects The Economist’s global circulation growth which has increased to 1,138,118.

s 34.3 per cent stake in Solucient, an information products company serving the healthcare industry, to The Thomson Corporation, which is acquiring all of Solucient.
United Business Media sells non-core US media portfolio

United Business Media plc (UBM) has sold a portfolio of non-core, consumer and enthusiast
media assets from its US-based subsidiary CMP Technology to The Wicks Group of Companies LLC. The titles Guitar Player, Bass Player, Pro Sound News and Systems Contractor News are included in the predominantly print media portfolio which has been acquired for a cash consideration of $47.0m. In the year ended 31 December 2005, this portfolio generated revenues of $41.3m.

VNU Business Media launches Contract China

Contract China is the first VNU publication to be unveiled in the country. The new bimonthly
magazine will focus on commercial interior design and architecture. The publication will have a controlled circulation of 17,500, reaching prequalified names from national and regional architectural and design institutions. It will also will be distributed to personnel in the global Fortune 500 corporations operating in China and the Fortune Top 10 Chinese companies.
RBI announce magazine merger

(RBI) and SEMI, a global industry association serving the micro and nano-electronics supply chain have announced a media partnership that will include the merger of Semiconductor Manufacturing Magazine with Semiconductor International.
