Business and financial information provider Dow Jones today announced the launch of
a new mobile data delivery service, DJNMobile.com – a browser-based interface for wireless devices. The new personalised service will enable subscribers to access news they would usually receive via their pc through any hand-held device, including mobile phones and blackberries.
UBM achieved ‘strong’ results, says CEO

United Business Media (UBM) has this week announced a 25 per cent rise in first-half operating profits for the last six months. The company’s profits have risen from £65.8m to £82.3m in the space of a year, and are expected to produce similar results in the second half. Despite a ‘tough’ trading environment, David Levin (pictured), chief executive of UBM, said they had achieved "strong operational and financial results."

More than 50 per cent of UK businesses turn to computing magazines for essential information to make informed decisions when purchasing technology, according to new research. The survey carried out by WStore, an online supplier of business IT equipment, found that computing websites, many produced by and linked to computing magazines, are trusted by 73 per cent of SME-sized respondents, and 67 per cent of corporates, relying on IT news and reviews sites as a primary source of product information.

2006 Tabbie awards winners announced

The 2006 Tabbie Awards broke the previous year's record for entries, with almost 800 nominations in editorial and design categories. Entries came from the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Germany, India, Lebanon, Ireland, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates. Judges were impressed with the quality of submissions once again this year.

ABC to integrate reporting of digital and print editions on B2B certificates

Following discussion and consultation within the ABC Business Press Specialist Committee, the ABC Council has ratified the recommendation of a change to the way digital editions are reported on B2B certificates. The change will enable print and digital edition circulations to be combined on B2B certificates, and is a response to industry demand for integrated reporting of digital editions in the business and professional magazine sector.
