The latest Long Term Advertising Expenditure Forecast of the Advertising Association (AA) suggests a substantial rise in UK ad expenditure over the next decade. It reports that contrary to some alarmist predictions, underlying economic forces that drive ad spend are likely to remain positive for the foreseeable future.

dmg world media expands events division

dmg world media has announced the acquisition of Gastech and the European Autumn Gas Conference (EAGC) from Turret Rai. Both events will be overseen by the existing management until after Gastech 2005 in March, when full management of both shows will be transferred to dmg world media's Business Media International division, based at its Redhill office.
Business information sector data to be updated

PPA has received confirmation that the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will support the business information and communications industry mapping exercise. This ground-breaking research project was first carried out in 2001, by the Business Information Forum (BIF) and published as Connecting Business.
