Emap reports growth in B2B ad revenues

Emap has issued a pre-close period trading update for the six months ending 30 September, showing an encouraging picture for its B2B activities. The update provides an overview of Emap plc's revenues and general trading prior to its interim results announcement in November.

UK ad expenditure totals £3.488m in second quarter

UK advertising expenditure totalled £3,488m in the second quarter of 2003. This represents a nominal increase of 1.2 per cent compared to the same period a year earlier, but a fall of 1.8 per cent in real terms (after adjusting for inflation).

British Business Survey 2003 results announced

The British Business Survey (BBS) 2003 was published this week. The survey is the leading source of marketing and media information for understanding British business men and women, both from a consumer and a business-to-business perspective. It represents approximately 1.5m individuals of middle or higher management status, whose occupation implies significant business responsibilities.

Positive indicators for US B2B publishers

For the first time since November 2000, business-to-business print advertising pages showed an increase compared to the same period a year previously. June figures released by American Business Media (ABM) show that ad pages were up 0.9 per cent compared to June 2002, while dollars were up 4.9 per cent. Year to date, spending was up 1.2 per cent and pages were down 3.6 per cent.

Bernard Gray becomes chairman of PPA's B2B Media committee

Bernard Gray, chief executive of CMP Information (CMPi), has stepped up as chairman of the B2B media committee. He replaces Charles Reed, group managing director of William Reed Publishing.
